My favorite hobby

This is no doubt that everyone has his/her own favorite hobby. Mine is bicycling.

I got my first bicycle from my grandfather when I was five-year-old. He taught me how to ride it. Because I was well protected by my grandfather. I never fell from the bike while I was learning how to ride it.

Few years later, I attended an elementary school. I made a friend. We rode a bike to the top of a small hill. I was the drive and he sat behind me. We rolled the bike from the top of the hill. Even though it is a small hill, it has a high degree. As a result, the bike lost control quickly and started to shake hardly. He was dropped from my bike and there is a fracture of the right hand. He was very brave at that time. He held his hand and said, you need to practice riding.

Because of his encouragement, my riding skill had a great improvement. I could stand on my bike without hands, or using back sit to ride without hand.

There is about 70 miles far away from my high school to my home. (I attended a high school outside of my hometown.) I rode a bike home within five and a half hours during summer break. I enjoyed the scenery through my journey. I love bicycling so much. If it is possible, I want to ride my bike back to my school!

The Person Who Influence My Career

The person that I admire the most named Thomas Alva Edison. I knew him from textbook when I was in elementary school. He was a great inventor. He invented electric light, cinecamera, generator and etc. He also did a great job in chemistry, architecture and mining. As I know, he was born in 1847, and died in 1931. I always wondering if he still alive now, what huge contributions he may make to the world! If those great scientists are still working, the world will be developed extremely fast. I want to major in Molecular Biology and Genetics, because I believe DNA and protein dominate human's life, especially the DNA. If human being is able to improve them, human's life may be longer. Which means "Thomas Alva Edison" may contribute to the world for hundred years. This is my dream. I know this is a mission impossible, but I will try it. I never try it before. How can I just give up without attempt?
